VI FLO

VI-FLO collects, organises, and makes available freshwater and landscape data from across the Virgin Islands — for research, for water management, and for anyone who needs to know what the water here has been doing.

Small tropical islands are chronically data-scarce. Records get collected by separate projects, in incompatible formats, and are often lost when the funding ends. The observatory exists to keep that data intact and usable: high-frequency logger records of water level and soil moisture, field measurements, laboratory results, geospatial layers, and relevant third-party datasets, all held under a consistent structure.

VI-FLO is based at the University of the Virgin Islands School of Agriculture in St. Croix.
